                                CSI             2006          Polaroid-format photographs

These photos record, but are also part of the piece I contributed to Paul Stanley's 'Food and Drink' exhibition at the Queen Street Studios Gallery in Belfast. Exhibiting a spilt bag of fish 'n' chips was intended to explore the sculptural qualities of this food item, linking it with an inquiry into what crime had been committed i.e. wasting food, littering or consuming animals for food.

I used polaroids partly because of the limited time to set up the exhibition, printing conventional or digital photos wasn't  a practical proposition. But in the end I was very pleased with the sleazy, low-grade quality of the polaroid snaps which seemed very appropriate to the subject matter. I exhibited ten polaroid photos with the actual fish 'n' chips, above are four of those ten.
