This sculpture was created for the 'Deep fields' show at Bankley Gallery, an architecturally-themed show as part of Architecture Week. I'm not a great fan of readymades but this was meant as a simple, fun idea to explore the specific architecture of the gallery floor, with its undulations and tile grid pattern. I was also interested in exploring the spatial relationships between static objects and how they can suggest other forms (i.e. the go-kart) by association. Using objects like wheels, that are designed for motion, also seemed to highlight the static qualities of the sculpture.
